Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

.

Q:  When will the lights be on this year (2010)?

A:  Weather permitting, we plan to start the show on Thanksgiving night (November 25th)

Q:  How does it work?

A: The lights are controlled by a computer using Light-O-Rama Hardware and software. Each song is individually programmed.

Q: How long does it take?

A:  Setting up the lights takes about 16 hours.  To program the lights, it takes about 2-4 hours per minute of song to complete.  There are also countless hours spent planning and preparing throughout the year for the show.

Q: How much is your electric bill?

A:  Actually, since the lights are turned off and on, they use much less power than if they were just left on all night.  We estimate that it costs less than $50 to run the show for each season.

Q:  How many lights do you have?

A:  We have over 8,400 lights for 2010.  These are controlled by 64 independent channels.

.

Q: How much did all of this cost?

A:  While we haven't added up the entire amount (it would be too shocking), it's at least $1,500.  We take advantage of the end of season sales to buy lights at big discounts.

.

Q:  How long have you been doing this?

A:  2010 is our 4th year.
